Explosive nucleosynthesis with fast neutrino-flavour conversion in core-collapse supernovae

چکیده
ABSTRACT Fast neutrino (ν)-flavour conversion (FFC) is a possible game-changing ingredient in core-collapse supernova (CCSN) theory. In this paper, we examine the impact of FFC on explosive nucleosynthesis by including effects conjunction with asymmetric ν emission into nucleosynthetic computations parametric way. We find that ejecta compositions are not appreciably affected for elements lighter than Co while influenced heavier elements. also role varies depending degree (masy) and ν-flavour mixing. The monotonic to masy. change composition increases higher masy up ∼10 per cent compared without FFC, whereas has little effect very large (${\gtrsim}30\,\hbox{per cent}$). Our results suggest facilitates production neutron-rich most cases, although it makes more proton-rich if anti-ν vigorous ν. key accounting trend absorption, whose can be quantified simple diagnostics.

Nucleosynthesis in Core Collapse Supernovae

متن کاملNon-spherical core collapse supernovae and nucleosynthesis
Motivated by observations of supernova SN1987A, various authors have simulated Rayleigh–Taylor (RT) instabilities in the envelopes of core collapse supernovae (for a review, see [1]). The non-radial motion found in these simulations qualitatively agreed with observations in SN1987A, but failed to explain the extent of mixing of newly synthesized Ni quantitatively. Here we present results of a 2...
متن کاملNucleosynthesis in the Hot Convective Bubble in Core-Collapse Supernovae
As an explosion develops in the collapsed core of a massive star, neutrino emission drives convection in a hot bubble of radiation, nucleons, and pairs just outside a proto-neutron star. Shortly thereafter, neutrinos drive a wind-like outflow from the neutron star. In both the convective bubble and the early wind, weak interactions temporarily cause a proton excess (Ye >∼0.50) to develop in the...
متن کاملΝ-process Nucleosynthesis in Population Iii Core-collapse Supernovae
We investigate the effects of neutrino-nucleus interactions (the ν-process) on the production of iron-peak elements in Population III core-collapse supernovae. The ν-process and the following proton and neutron capture reactions produce odd-Z iron-peak elements in complete and incomplete Si burning region. This reaction sequence enhances the abundances of Sc, Mn, and Co in the supernova ejecta....
متن کاملNucleosynthesis in Neutrino-Driven Supernovae
Core collapse supernovae are the leading actor in the story of the cosmic origin of the chemical elements. Existing models, which generally assume spherical symmetry and parameterize the explosion, have been able to broadly replicate the observed elemental pattern. However, inclusion of neutrino interactions produces noticeable improvement in the composition of the ejecta when compared to obser...
